  1. Archive old/unused accounts

So that those accounts you don't use anymore are still on the system and the data is kept and accessible, but so that they don't show on your account lists/update emails etc

You can currently group accounts together into an archive group, so that the transactions are kept. There is an article in the knowledge base at http://psmth.to/UK that explains how this is done.

If you don’t like the current solution for archiving accounts by grouping, please add your comments about why this is the case.

    • Interest on mortgage account feature needs improving badly

The interest calculated for forecasting on mortgage account creates a "Interest on mortgage account" category in forecasting. However this category doesn't exist anywhere else i.e you can't assign the actual interest paid to it (for budgeting) and you also can't view this as part of the Income and Expense feature.

If removing the interest on mortgage feature user can simply create a category for this purpose and assign the transactions however budgeting then will not work very well for forecasting because you can only set static numbers into budgets. And interest is calculated..

Integration of these is a must do.

      • Allow Backup and Export of ALL data

It would be great to be able to export all data from the pocketsmith accounts and that does not only mean export of cashflow data or transactions but also export of calendar entries and their recurrence and export of matching filters and whatever else there is.

I could image that as multiple csvs or and xml dump or whatever, just get it out of the system and have it offline for whatever reason as a backup or reference or just to be safe in case pocketsmith goes down :-)

Additionally this could also be used as a backup if it…

Please add your votes and any comments, if you would like to see this added to PocketSmith.

In the meantime, you can export all of your transactions. This is shown in the knowledge base article at http://psmth.to/Nr.

        • Link to PayPal for better Descriptions

PayPal transactions currently show up with the Transaction ID only. When you have a lot of transactions, this adds up to quite a large budget for the same category that needs manually assignment to categories. Would be better for this to link up to PayPal to automatically display the item which was purchased and/or to whom the money was sent.

            • Includes notes in CSV import

Each transaction has a notes field, it would be helpful if CSV import supported notes.
This is especially useful in case of cash accounting

              • Create Time Frame Savings Goals

Sometimes you know you just want to save money each week or month etc... It would be great to be able to create a goal like Save $x amount each month. The tool could forcast if you can do it, and then you can check completed on each one and track when you made your goals and when you didn't. That could help point out times when you know you need to be even more careful with your money.

                • Net worth over time

Hi, love the net worth feature introduced. Would be great if we could track net worth over time (so we can see any progress/decline) over the months/years.

Also, there should be a way for the user to decide whether or not net worth (i.e. assets/liabilities) should be included on the dashboard or kept separate.

That way it doesn't distort the actual picture for those wishing to track cash versus equity.

                  Thanks
                  Sam

                  • Event type: Reimbursment

I pay the total rent for my house, but collect rent checks from my roomates. I also pay for work travel on my credit card and am reimbursed through a check. I deposit all of these into my checking account but they are not income. I would like to be able to make these event types "reimbursment". It would also be helpful to be able to assign it to the original expense.

You can currently use the refund behaviour of a category for reimbursement. If the category has the refund behaviour of ‘Expense only, all credits are refunds’ any income transactions won’t be treated as income and will just reduce the expense amount for the category. We have a knowledge base article at http://psmth.to/sc that explains refund behaviour.

Does using the refund behaviour of a category fix this issue?

                    • The ability to display reports for labels

If the you have transactions labeled it would be good to be able to have pages like the Income & Expense statement be able to be refined to transactions with this label.

I would like to be able to enter the check number when I am entering checks into the forecast. And the system should import the check number from my bank. Ultimately an automatic or semi automatic reconciliation could be done. I write the check today, but I never know when it is going to pass. Currently, I have to manually look everyday to see of the check has passed, if not, I need to move the check in the forecast to the next day. The previous system I used would not mark the check as paid until it was reconciled…

                          • Revolving Credit Mortgages

We have a revolving credit mortgage, which operates like an large overdraft. Our pay goes into this account, and all our expenses are managed from it. In addition, we hold our savings in this account as a way of keeping interest low.

As our savings aren't in a separate bank account, its hard to keep track of them closely. It would be great if you could create a 'virtual' bank account in pocketsmith to group with the revolving credit account. We could then make virtual transfers across from the revolving credit account to the savings account, and keep track of…

                              • Make it possible to split scheduled transactions in the budget - such as a monthly paycheck into gross wages, taxes withheld, net wages, etc

Currently, you can split transactions after they are entered, but it is not possible to split transactions that are scheduled in a budget. For example, if I receive a monthly paycheck, that paycheck consists of gross wages, taxes withheld, net wages, superannuation contributions and possibly other additions and deductions. Generally these amounts don't change month to month. Therefore, it would make sense to be able to set up more complex recurring transactions, rather than schedule only the net amount, and then manually split the transactions afterwards every single time.

I would like to have access to the list of exact-match rename rules for merchants - a screen that would show the list with the original transaction name and what it's being renamed to, with an option to edit the latter. I know we have the filters that can do this, but I regard them as being for matching partial/dynamic transactions (plus I know that this list must exist somewhere under the hood!).

My use-case is basically for when I mistakenly rename a merchant to an existing merchant name, lumping in multiple transactions, and want to split it up again.…

                                  • Defer forecasted budget impact until end of period

Enhancement primarily for improving handling of budgets used for multiple transactions (e.g., groceries, misc.), but generally useful.

Corrects balance calculation projections impacted by unpredictable transaction count and timing.

Configuration change: add a user-settable attribute to defer the effect of a budgeted amount on balance calculations until the end of the period (after adjusting for actual transactions). E.g.: grocery budget of $500, period starting on the 1st of every month, defined as “month end" (instead of "month start")

Behavior change: For "period end" budgets, do not adjust the projected balances on the first day of the period. Instead, project an adjustment…

                                    • Would love a debt tracking and reduction module

Maybe there's a way to already track your debts and reduce your debts in Pocketsmith and I just haven't found it yet (newbie to the tool) but it would be fantastic to have an additional module to this tool that allows us to do that. Much like the https://www.savvymoney.com/ process, it would be nice to be able to map your high interest loans/credit cards and gradually pay it down with some intelligent guidance from a software program to know what needs to be paid down first and how much you can afford to pay-down.

                                      Thanks!

                                      • Income and Expense - Year to Date Option

It would be helpful to have a Year to date (YTD) option on the time frames listed on the Income and Expense Report page (Upper left corner). Currently the only way to find the YTD information is to input a custom time frame. If you choose "last year", then it lists May to May, for instance.

Love the product, you guys are doing a great job.

                                        • Account Sharing (Advisor Access) - Limit Shared Access / Add Permissions Settings

In the Advisor Access module, you may currently share your overall account with others - such as a family member or financial advisor. This currently is an "all or nothing" functionality.

Enhance this functionality to include the capability of permission settings specifically including the ability to allow access only to certain accounts.

Example User Story: As a person with joint finances I want to share a joint checking account with my significant other without sharing my personal checking account so that I can work cooperatively with my significant other, allowing visibility into our joint finances in one place while keeping…
