How do I find the actual amount vs budgeted amount for a category?

PocketSmith allows you view the amount you have over or under spent for a category over a particular time period.
  1. Go to the Budgets page

  2. Select on the category you want to view

  3. Adjust the date range as desired

  4. If you have set up a budget for this category, it will show you the amount you have saved below budget or spent over budget for the date range selected

PocketSmith doesn't have roll-over or accruing budgets. This means that if you have a recurring budget, the budget amount resets at the start of the next budget period. For example, if the budget is $20 per month and you only spend $15 one month, the next month the budget will still be $20 not $25.

As such, this feature allows you to see the total accrued / overspent in a budget for a specified period of time. This allows you to make decisions about what to do with the money you've saved (or, how to make up for the money you've overspent!). You may want to adjust future budgets by this amount.
